This policy explains what information Cadent Family collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Longtable Labs LLC (“we”, “us”) makes Cadent Family. If anything here is unclear, contact us at privacy@longtablelabs.com.

What we collect

We collect only what the app needs to work as a shared family organiser:

Your name and email address	To create your account, identify you within your family, and sign you in.
Calendar events, tasks, chores, and shopping items you create	These are the content of the app — the shared organiser itself.
Photos of schedules you choose to upload	So they can be read and turned into suggested calendar events (see below).
Profile photos and avatars you choose to add	To personalise how family members appear in the app.
Notification settings and device push tokens	To send the reminders you ask for, and to respect your quiet hours.
Chores you complete, the points they earn, and rewards you ask for	To keep each member's points balance, and so a parent can approve rewards.
Links with people in other households, and the events shared across them	So you can see the events someone in another household chooses to share with you, and share yours with them.

We do not collect your contacts, your location, your browsing history, or advertising identifiers. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers.

How schedule photos are read

The distinguishing feature of Cadent Family is that you can photograph a paper schedule — a school newsletter, a sports card — and the app reads it into suggested calendar events for you to review.

When you upload such a photo, its image is sent to Anthropic's API (Anthropic, the maker of the Claude AI models) to be read and turned into text and dates.
Anthropic processes the image to return the schedule it finds. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, data submitted through the API is not used to train their models.
The events the photo produces are shown to you for review. Nothing is added to your calendar until you approve it.

If you do not use the photo-import feature, no images are sent to Anthropic.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored in Cadent Family's own database, used solely to provide the app to you and your family. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

These service providers handle data on our behalf, only to run the app:

Render hosts the app's server and database, where your account and your family's content are stored.
Google Firebase Authentication handles sign-in and holds your email address and sign-in account.
Google Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers push notifications, such as your reminders, to your devices.
An email delivery provider sends reminder emails, if you receive them.
Anthropic's API reads the schedule photos you choose to upload, as described above. No other service receives those photos.

If your family follows an outside calendar by its web address, our server fetches that address to keep it up to date. If your family shares its calendar by link, anyone with the link can see the events marked visible to the whole family; making a new link stops the old one working.

Family sharing and privacy within a family

Cadent Family is shared by design: members of the same family see the shared calendar, tasks and lists. You control the visibility of individual events — everyone, just you, or a chosen list of people. Parents can see their children's events; adults keep their own events private from one another unless shared. Anyone you invite to your family, using an invite code, can see the shared content of that family.

Children

Cadent Family is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian, who adds family members including children. A child's calendar information is entered and managed by the adults in their family. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children outside of this family context.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is deleted, and events, tasks and list items you added to a family that carries on stay with that family, as described below.

How to delete your account and your data

You can delete your Cadent Family account at any time, in the app or by email.

In the app

Tap your picture at the top right, then Delete account. Or, if you are not in a family yet, tap Delete account below Sign out. The app shows what will happen to each family before you confirm.

Without the app

Email privacy@longtablelabs.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm and delete your account within 30 days.

What is deleted

Your name, email address and sign-in account.
Photos of you and photos you uploaded, unless another member's avatar or background uses them.
Your devices and notification settings.
Your links with other households.
Your points history.

What is kept

Events, tasks and list items you added to a family that carries on stay with that family, with your name removed from them. Ask in your email if you want them removed too.

If you are a family's only parent

Another adult in the family with an account becomes its parent. If there is no such adult, the family is deleted with everything in it.

How long it takes

In-app deletion is immediate. Email requests are completed within 30 days.

Security

Access to your family's data is restricted to members of that family, enforced both in the app and in the database. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, though no method of storage or transmission is ever completely secure.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you within the app or by email.
